Closing your old account

If you keep your "old" account open and funded for a period of time, you can continue to use that account to make check or debit payments if needed.

We recommend you plan to keep both your "old" and "new" accounts open for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. Monitor both accounts until you're sure your automatics have all switched over to your new Bell account.

Online and mobile banking, as well as CardValet notifications, can simplify monitoring both accounts.

When you're ready to close your old account, just contact your previous bank by phone, or send them our form to let them know.
